First International Psychodrama Conference in Mainland China!
August 4-7, 2007, in mainland China: The 1st International Expressive Art Therapy and Psychodrama Conference. It will be in Suzhou, about an hour¡¯s train ride west of Shanghai, China. Conference Theme: Building a Harmonious Society Through Convergence of East-west Cultures and Psycho-social Development
Two of the keynote speakers will be the internationally-recognized Jorg Burmeister, the future president of the International Association for Group Psychotherapy), and Marcia Karp, from London, who also teaches internationally?

One of the conference organizers is Dr. Tao, and his secretary, Linda, <dreamy1029@yahoo.com.cn> notes: There is a website in English now. Suzhou is a very beautiful city with an area of 8,488 square kilometers and the population of about six million. Suzhou, the combination of ancient China and modern China, is well-known for its ancient gardens.
1. The conference will be held in Suzhou Center Hotel. You can stay in this hotel, Suzhou Hotel and Dongwu Hotel and there are three stops by bus from the venue to the latter two hotels.
2. There will be shuttle busses that will transport you between the conference venue and your hotel
3. There will be a buffet dinner at the conference, and one dinner included in the registration fee but you have to pay the other meals and the charge for each meal is 30-50 yuan RMB.
4. Although a few speakers have already been arranged for presenting, there is room for others still to submit a plan to present and that the planning committee is open to such proposals.
5. Suzhou is on the west of Shanghai and you can see it on the map.
6. Authors can sell your books on the conference if only they rent a booth, which would cost not very much.
Directions: If you travel by air, you'll first get to Shanghai Pudong Airport or Shanghai Hongqiao Airport from your city. After arriving at either airport, you have three choices to Suzhou. First, you can take a through bus to Suzhou at the airport (fare from Pudong Airport is 80 Yuan and from Hongqiao is 60 Yuan).After getting off the bus, you can take a cab to Suzhou Center hotel (not more than 20 Yuan). Second, you can go to Shanghai Railway Station from either airport and arrive in Suzhou Railway Station by train (15 Yuan), and then you can take a cab to Suzhou Center Hotel (not more than 20 Yuan).Last, you can come to Suzhou by taxi, which charges you about 400 Yuan RMB.
People should go to the conference center and check in first. The conference will be held at one of the hotels, that is, Suzhou Center Hotel. There are three stops from Suzhou Center Hotel to the other two hotels by bus. We have shuttle buses to pick you up and it is free. There are restaurants near and in the hotels and the charges depend on what restaurants you select. Althought there is one free dinner, you will have to pay the other meals and the charge for each meal is 30-50 yuan RMB.

Travel: The train to Suzhou leaves almost every hour; there are many trains from Shanghai to Suzhou.You need not get a ticket in advance and you may stand in line for about 10 minutes before you get a ticket. It is very convenient. The train is not crowded at that time you come to Suzhou and you will be able to get a seat on the train. Besides, it takes you about one hour to arrive in Suzhou.
